Privacy policy.
Last updated November 4, 2026
This policy explains what information the GLYDETO iPhone app and the glydeto.com website collect, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. GLYDETO is made by Hemanth Pediredla, an individual developer in Ontario, Canada (“we”, “us”). Questions go to [email protected].
The short version
- You need an account to use GLYDETO. We keep your email address and, if you give it, your name.
- We use your location to show nearby stations and follow your trip. We don't keep a history of where you've been.
- We see anonymous, combined statistics about how the app is used, through Apple's App Analytics, only if you chose to share analytics with app developers. There are no third-party analytics or ads in the app.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- You can delete your account and its data in the app at any time.
What we collect and why
| Information | Why we use it | Linked to you? |
|---|---|---|
| Account details: your email address, a user ID and, if you choose to share it, your name. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email, and we then receive an Apple relay address instead. | To create and secure your account, sign you in, and contact you about your account or support requests. | Yes |
| Precise location, while the app is open and, if you start a trip and allow it, in the background during that trip. | To find nearby stations, fill in “My location” in the trip planner, and keep your Live Activity and widgets up to date on board. When you plan a trip from your location, that start or end point is sent to our server to calculate the trip and is not stored. | Not stored |
| App usage statistics from Apple: installs, sessions, crashes, app version and device type, combined across users. Apple only shares these if you turned on Share With App Developers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. | To understand how GLYDETO is used and fix what doesn't work. We only see totals and never individual activity. Not used for advertising or tracking. | No |
| Searches you type into the trip planner (station names and addresses). | To find stations and places. Address searches are passed through our server to Photon, an OpenStreetMap search service, and may also use Apple's address lookup on your iPhone. | No |
| Saved places and preferences: Home, Work, saved places, favourite lines and settings. | To show your favourites first and plan trips faster. These are stored on your device. | No |
| Feedback and support emails, including the email address you send from. | To reply to you and fix the problem you reported. | Yes |
| Subscription status: whether you have an active trial or subscription, its type and expiry date. | To unlock the app for subscribers. Payment is handled by Apple. We never see your card or billing details. | Yes |
We do not collect your contacts, photos, health data, browsing history or payment card details. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not track you as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency rules.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run GLYDETO for us, and only what each one needs:
- Supabase: account sign-in and the database that stores your account.
- Oracle Cloud: hosts the GLYDETO server and this website.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions and payments, address lookup, Live Activity updates, and the anonymous App Analytics described above.
- Photon by Komoot (OpenStreetMap search): receives the address text you search for, without your account details.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public. Transit data comes from Metrolinx Open Data. We do not send your personal information to Metrolinx or GO Transit.
Where it is stored
Our service providers may store and process information in Canada, the United States or other countries, where privacy laws may differ from Ontario's. We choose providers that protect it with encryption in transit and access controls.
How long we keep it
- Account details and subscription status: while your account exists. They are deleted when you delete your account.
- App usage statistics are combined and anonymous, and Apple keeps them under its own policy.
- Support emails: for as long as needed to help you, and no more than two years after the conversation ends.
- Location used for trip planning is not stored.
Deleting your account and data
In the app, go to Profile → Account → Delete account. Your account and the information linked to it are permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days, apart from anything we are required by law to keep. Data stored only on your device is removed when you delete the app. If you can't sign in, email [email protected] from your account's email address.
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Your choices and rights
- Location: turn it off or limit it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. GLYDETO still works, without nearby stations or trip following.
- Access and correction: ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Withdraw consent: you can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us.
We respond to requests within 30 days. Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
GLYDETO is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
This website
glydeto.com does not use cookies, analytics or advertising. Fonts are served from our own server. Like most websites, our server keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site secure and running.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
